Time Wanderer
No matter what you think … what you see here is one single shot I made one night in mid July at this wonderful location in the middle of the Swiss Alps. But I was not alone with my dog, no … this time I had the privilege to have a guest with me. Already on my way up the mountain in the dark I noticed that there was something or someone following me. And after some time I saw it … ha ha ha … a Fox! A beautiful Fox was following me. He walked at more or less 50 Meters distance on my left side. And even when I was shooting … he was on my left at the mentioned distance! And from time to time I illumined the area where I thought he was and saw him sitting completely calm and tranquil and enjoying the night with me. For me a wonderful experience and something really special … like a gift ;-)

Rusty-leaved Alpine Roses
Here I’ve done a time blending … otherwise it would not have been possible to do this in one shingle shot. The idea was to have a very sharp image from front to back and to capture three things. The land part, the light of the moon and finally the partial Milky Way. When I arrived at the spot here I positioned my tripod and waited for the beginning of the twilight. I made a focus stacking image and even more I used my polarizer (and don’t ask because I don’t know why in the hell I used it with that light). Then I made a beautiful fire and made some few sausages … mmmmhhhh very delicious he he he. Later I made another shot by the setting of the moon to capture the moonlight and finally … a lot time later I made another shot of the night sky trying to capture the partial Milky Way! And in post process I tried to put together all the pieces and I hope you like it.

Night and day at the lake Husemersee
The beginning of this years winter was really strange in Switzerland because we had to wait a very long time till the moment to see the first snow. Anyway … I was again at one of my favorite lakes one month ago. And as you can see … far and wide no one sign of the white thing. And although it does not look like it was quite cold and during several weeks we barely saw one single cloud in the sky. So I decided once again to take a photo at the end of the night. I made this photo here one hour before sunrise and I was happy to have the last stars sparkle, while on the right side the first light of an imminent sunrise was gaining the field. And among us … I love the sunrises in winter more than those in the summer season. They are not so pompous and huge in the winter season, but I can say from my experience that in winter the air is cleaner and clearer, and the colors are more varied than in the summer time. It’s really a special moment on a winter morning to experience such a spectacle if you decide to get up early … and I can recommend it to anyone ;-)
