Mystical Sunrise

This coast in the northern of Spain is simply incredible and so fascinating. Spikes and unbelievable rock formations that I normally only can find on my hikes across the Swiss Alps, but here on this coast I find such spots like stars in the night sky. I took this shot at low tide and chose this foreground which is normally underwater at high tide. I hope you enjoy my vision here.

Sunset at the Sea

A fantastic evening with such a great sunset I could experience when I was at this location. And completely different to everything I know from my loved mountains in the Swiss Alps. I tried a horizontal shot with some amazing rocks in the foreground while in the back there was this lighthouse just in the direction of the sunset. I was so fascinated about the amazing colors during the last hours facing the wind coming from the sea. I hope you like it as well and thanks for watching.

Witcher’s Light Evening

This was taken at a place only reachable when there is low tide. I had to take several things into account, such as the ebb tide, weather conditions and also the time of sunset. And during my two week stay at this location, unfortunately only 1 or 2 days were perfect for it. And I was lucky with my project and was able to take this picture during the twilight time, which made me very happy and I hope you like it too.

Lighthouse Stories

------------------------- It was really fascinating to experience the sunset on this small island. In the foreground tall and wild grass, which moved incredibly fast due to the strong wind, while in the background the sun behind the lighthouse approached the horizon over the sea. What a mood and what a special feeling I had during the last hour of light. I hope I made justice to this fabulous and beautiful holy spot and I hope you like it as well. -------------------------

Fairytale Lighthouse

------------------------- What a magical evening we had when we were here on this holy ground enjoying such a fantastic sunset with magical colors in the sky. During the entire evening I was seeing a stripe of dark clouds on the horizon and personally I was thinking that it would get only darker and darker without any colours. But we were rewarded with an explosion in the sky. Once again, it has paid off to just wait and wait until the light has completely disappeared. You really never know what kind of special surprises the weather will show. -------------------------

Light Signals

------------------------- It was a great photo adventure I could experience the last weekend in Wales. We were a small group of friends who met together just to go out and to visit some fantastic spots in Great Britain. The first spot was this amazing lighthouse you see in the image here. Could you imagine the face I made when I saw this bombastic vista … me coming from a country with lots of mountains and no sea? I was simply overwhelmed. -------------------------

No Land

------------------------- This is a very special location I could visit at the coast of Asturias in the Northern of Spain. I named this shot here „No Land“ as this area here is normally under water and can be only visited by low tide. For me something really not usual as I really only know the Swiss Alps. After studying the tides I knew that I had only one evening when sunset and low tide came together. And how lucky I was to have such a great spectacle in the sky. Sunrise and Hallelujah

------------------------- What an amazing location in the northern of Spain I had here. I must admit that coming from Switzerland this here is just incredible for me. It’s completely opposite to everything I know. I would have been just happy with having only the sea in front of me, but to have such cool rocks and foreground in combination with such a fantastic light of the sunrise, it was like having birthday. Illuminated Double Axe

Well, I think this will be my last seascape image for this year as Autumn is already here in Switzerland. This shot was also made at sunset at the beach called „Playa del Silencio“. As you can see I positioned me just in front of some rocks and waited to the point as the sun was exactly in the middle of tow rocks. A very easy shot but nevertheless I hope you like it. _________________________

Towards Valhalla

------------------------- This amazing cave and rock formation located on the beach of Campiecho (Asturias, Spain) are only accessible at low tide. Well, during my stay of two weeks in Asturias I had to plan good for a visit of this location here. I wanted to be in the cave at low tide, and be also exactly at sunset at the spot. And my third problem was to have the perfect weather for my visit. With a clear sky this shot would have been more difficult due to the difference of light between the inside and outside of the cave. After studying all the necessary pieces, it was clear that I had only one or two days for a try. Well, I’m really grateful that everything went well on my trip and I could make some shots as you can see here. I hope you like my vision here. -------------------------

Sunshine, gold and glory

------------------------- Another shot made at the iconic and famous coast called „Gueirua“ I made one early morning when the world was still sleeping. But this is exactly what I really love, because it is most of the time so rewarding. To get up still in the night and asking why I’m doing this, only to get to the place, to wait till the right moment and to see this glory. And exactly this moment here is the response to all questions I made during my way to the place! For me it’s like food for the soul and I hope you like this sunrise shot here! -------------------------

Last flawless light

What a pleasure for me that I had the chance to experience such moments at the coast of Asturias (Northern Spain). I was visiting one evening this amazing place called „Playa del Silencio“ and I was looking for some cool foregrounds when suddenly I found this one here. This structures and shapes of the rocks in the foreground somehow reminded me of something extraterrestrial … alien-like … he he he. Therefore, I decided to wait for the last rays of sunshine to capture this vertical here. I think I never had a similar strange foreground and I hope you like it as well.

Shimmering Silvercoast

Well, I think it’s time to begin with posting several images I made during my stay in Asturias (Spain) some weeks ago. I made this shot here at a very iconic beach called „Gueirua“ one rainy afternoon. A single long exposure shot which I found very difficult to make as I was cleaning the lenses all the time due to the rain! And more it was not so comfortable to stay balanced over the rocks and stones during a heavy wind and rain, cleaning all the time the lenses and at the same time trying not to fall into the sea with all my equipment :-) But it was so rewarding to be there and I could’t care less about the weather … I was so happy to finally, finally, finally to see the sea again after so much time as I have no sea in my country :-)

Well, a very old image I made some years ago when I was enjoying the summer in Elba. A wonderful and so picturesque island in Italy and I wish I can one day return to that wonderful place. This here were made on a evening at sunset and I hope you like it.

Another very old image I made of the coast during my stay on the isle Elba in Italy. I wish I could make more shots of the sea but he he he … unfortunately I’m living in a country without such areas ;-) But nevertheless I hope you like it!

The view over Volterraio and Portoferraio

An very old image I made on the Isle Elba in Italy some years ago. The Volterraio is the hill in the foreground and the location Portoferraio is located in the distance on the left. I would love to see this area some day in my life again and I hope you enjoy this view here as well ;-)

Stormy Golden Eye

This shot here was made last year in summer when I was on the island Elba in Italy. I remember exactly how desperate I was during that period, looking all the time to a wonderful blue but boring sky. And how lucky I was to experience of only one or two days a thunderstorm over the entire area. Like a fool I ran to the beach looking for a cool foreground and finally to capture this vision here! I hope you like it!
